BMW Blog recently listed their choice for the Top Five BMW of 2016, which was a difficult time for them as the year was a great one for BMW thanks to many revolutionary model releases.
Number Five was the BMW i3, which they consider a very important car for both the brand and the consumer. With a newly upgraded battery, the new BMW i3 boasts a dramatically-improved driving range of 114 miles between charges – more than enough for anyone without the most demanding of commutes.
Number Four isn’t released yet, but still makes the BMW Blog list. The all-new BMW 5 Series (named G30 generation) won’t arrive until early 2017, but that’s not quelling the excitement about this BMW that promises to be a class-leading chart-topper.
Number Three is the BMW M760Li which is the model that handily bests its Mercedes competition with its 6.6 liter V12, 600HP and a 0-60 time of 3.6 seconds. All the while delivering 5 passengers in the lap of luxury. BMW Blog calls it “one of the coolest cars BMW’s made”.
Number Two is the BMW M4 GTS, what BMW Blog calls a “properly stripped-out hardcore track day car that seems like it should breathe fire”. It boosts the M4 model’s 444HP to 493HP with a unique water-injection system that cools the combustion chamber and boosts pressure. It also boasts a manually-adjustable suspension, roll cage and some 20-inchers. Sheer driving bliss.
Number One is the one-and-only BMW M2. Anyone that knows cars knows about the BMW M2, as its performance and success has been grabbing headlines since the day it was announced and even more so after its recent release. Jeremy Clarkson of former Top Gear fame, for instance, called the BMW M2 the best BMW M ever made, which is quite flattering.
Based around the same platform as the already wonderful 2 Series, the BMW M2 is agile, quick and beautiful and climbs from 0 to 60 in a scant 4 seconds. It is certain to put a smile on the face of anyone that loves cars and driving.
